Outsiders(1)

Are there any current situations in the world that relate to the novel? What are they, and how do they relate? Does the novel shed any light on how current situations could be resolved or "fixed"?

I think current situations relate to the novel. In this story, it is about the gangster who act very horrible thing. In Korean school, some of students are gangsters who don't wore school uniform and grew their hair. Sometime they called weak person and robbed money. Usually they got trouble from teachers and they got big punishment. They don’t obey their teacher, even parents. Teacher and parents are worried about this situation. Even though they continued bad thing, they continued annoyed other students. When school finished, usually they played until midnight and annoyed little kids. I think this situations are hard to resolve, because in school, they punishment but punishments are weak. If this situation, occur to TCIS, it gives suspension or expulsion, but in Korean school, it doesn’t. If Korean school gives same punishment as TCIS, then probably it can resolve this situation. When gangsters became adults, then I think they will be murder, so this situation should resolve as soon as possible.

Are there any settings in this novel which you have found to be beautiful? Or disturbing? Or memorable? Describe these setting and comment on why they were meaningful to you.

There aren't beautiful setting in this story. Actually there are terrible events in this story. For example the children kill each others. These situations are memorable, because these events are cruel and I hope this situations never happen to current. In addition if this situation happen to current, the world will be destory, so that this setting are memorable. It shows that the people's mind are changeable so it hard to believe other peoples.

In this story, the moods are dark, beacause the children kills each other. Actually, in this story, there isn't bright mood and there is only dark mood, because the some children starts rebellion to be best of the children. I found lots of saddness story. Usually the story shows unfortunate events that give sad thing. In addition, there is cruel thing that feels sad. For example they were best bodys but they killed each other.

Who are the main characters in the novel? Do you like them? Why or why not? What is special about them? what do they reveal about the universal human experience?

The main characters are Ralph, Jack and Simon. I like Ralph and Simon, because Ralph is the leader of the children and Simon followed him. Ralph made a rule Which children can follow easily. I like Simon more, because his behavior is kind. Also he made good community, so that the children can easily to close. On the other hand I hate Jack, because he disobey the a rule. He has the bad desire, so after he died. These characteres are best important in the story. I learn the people have good and bad ambition. If people live in good way, then they will happen good thing. On the other hand, If people live like Jack, then they probably will happen unfortunaten thing. This situation are probably related current situation. Current people will universal about the peoples have ambition which it damage you. I think the people should have to understand how they feel and help to figure it out.

I think the current situation of North Korea is related to the novel. As you know, Kim Jung -Ill is the president of North Korea. He made a law and people must to follow. In the story some rebelled a rule a rule and if they disobey, they die. Even though if may be hard, they can solve this problem. First they need to make Kim Jung-Ill stop doing whatever he wants, and make a proper lawthat every citizens are satisfied with.

What is the major theme of this novel? Why is this theme importatn to a teenager living in 2007?

The theme of Lord of the Flies was to trace the problems of the society. We live in back to the sinful nature and mind of man. In this book, the story takes place in a desert island which with no law, people can do anything they want, and get away with it. That's why the children became out of control at first, until they formed a law to follow. The teenagers want to do as they wish during their "troubled times", so most teenager might take the "wrong path" of their life. They should try to rethink of the decisions they make for a couple of seconds, in order to go the right path in life.
